Get Rhythm takes an honest and dedicated approach to treating classic Johnny Cash material with the finesse and respect it deserves. Nothing added, no filler. Genuine Cash as close as we can play it, as a tribute to one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20th Century...

Although a native of Montana, Bryan Wiese has lived in Portland since the age of 4.
Equipped with a drum set purchased while in high school, he dabbled in the rock music
of the time, jamming with buddies but never in an actual band. As the years went on
his interest shifted towards folk/country/roots music. This helped Bryan develop a
passion for singing as it suited his bass/baritone range. Bryan started singing in
karaoke bars in the late 2000’s and soon discovered how well the style and sounds of
Johnny Cash and other classic country artists fit his vocal range. After gaining some
confidence singing in the karaoke bars, the decision was made in 2010 to form a
Johnny Cash tribute band. After spending some time memorizing songs and learning a
few basic guitar skills, he began searching for band mates in Feb 2011. After getting a
response from lead guitarist Michael Krasovech, ‘Get Rhythm’ was born in April of 2011.
Bryan’s main influences are Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Cat Stevens, Gordon
Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, Dwight Yoakam, Chris Isaak, Merle Haggard.

Michael grew up in Chicago and picked up the guitar at the age of 13. Shortly after attending his first concert (Kiss!), and with the help of some other local musicians taught himself every Kiss, Rush and Devo song he could figure out. He attended Eastern Illinois University and performed with several University jazz ensembles.
After graduating he opened up and operated a guitar shop, performing all repairs. It was around this time he hooked up with the Chicago-based Roots/Rockabilly/Swing outfit "The Riptones", playing, recording, touring with them for several years (in the US/UK)- playing with such notable acts as Brian Setzer Orchestra, Dick Dale, Link Wray, and Los Straitjackets. Several albums and a movie soundtrack later, he relocated to the Left Coast where he met Bryan and together they started up "Get Rhythm".
Michael's influences are Freddie King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Blind Blake and Jerry Reed. His gear consists of a '60 Fender Tweed Deluxe, and a variety of 'homebuilt' Fender Esquire copies.

Dean Thurston, Get Rhythm's drummer, grew up in New England and, from the age of fourteen, privately studied drums with Alan Dawson at the Berklee College of Music. After graduating from college, Deano played in several bands touring the eastern half of the country.

In 1977, Deano moved to the Los Angeles area to pursue a full time music career. He studied Latin percussion with Poncho Sanchez who is among the most prominent congueros in the world today. After nearly 20 years of playing with countless bands in the Los Angeles area, Deano decided to re-root in the Pacific Northwest.

Since then he has held down a rigorous percussion teaching schedule and contributed to the success of several local bands. A few well orchestrated opportunities to perform with national acts have fueled the artistic fire.

Deano enjoys Get Rhythm's authentic reproduction of Johhny Cash's music and the genuine enthusiasm of his friends in the band.

Sam Fisher started playing bass at age 10. His dad played bass and guitar which he later inherited  and the uses it  at gigs. He grew up accompanying his father  as he sang folk songs on his guitar at parties. He performed with the Portland Youth Philharmonic from age 16-19 and later played in  High Desert Surf, Voxanova, Gentle Rain (still does occasionally) and currently still a member of the Jazz Express Big Band. Sam loves the energy and the playfulness of this band.”it’s just plain fun music to play!” says Sam. When he’s not playing with the band, he teaches first grade in Estacada at Clackamas River Elementary where he occasionally brings his ukulele in and sings lots of ‘silly’ songs with his class. Sam is deeply in love with his wife of 14 years Robin, and 11 year old son Kenneth. They live on the family ranch in Estacada (homesteaded by his great grandfather in 1864)
